The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Seeman and Bierschenk present, Primmer called in. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. at the conference room at the Benton County Service Center. Members of the public were provided the zoom access capability to join in during open session and livestream at https://www.youtube.com/bentoncountyiowa. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously. Bierschenk moved/ Primmer seconded: To approve minutes from December 14, 2021. Motion carried.

Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve payroll checks numbered 142109 through 142116, ACH Deposits 47710 through 47857, claims numbered 241021 through 241163, vendor checks 241164 through 241171. Motion carried.

Braxton Morrison and Shelby Chekal, Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) officials explained what services they offer. They are a county-wide organization that started in 2017, and most recently obtaining their 501(c)3 status. They help those who respond to emergencies and traumatic events in Benton County and were looking for some space where they could provide confidential services. The board agreed to allow use of the Service Center's conference room when it was not in use.

Jennifer Fencl with the East Central Iowa Council of Governments (ECICOG) explained some needed change orders for the Watershed Management Authority (WMA).

Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve change order No. 1, Project 8600, Schedule 2 (Vinton Site) in the amount of $5,055.00 for additional seeding Motion carried.

Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve change order No. 1, Project 8600, Schedule 1B (Hart Site) in the amount of $29,275.00. Motion carried.

Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve Change order No. 2, Project 8600, Schedule 1B, (Hart Site) for a pipe change by Peterson Contractors Inc. in the amount of $4,500. Motion carried.

The Board had some committee reports including briefly discussing the proposed re-districting for the supervisor's districts. The redistricting commission works using the new census data and blocks to maintain equal population in each district.
