The National Association of Social Workers, Iowa Chapter (NASW IA) and the Grand View University Social Work Club are co-hosting a townhall meeting to discuss mental health with Iowa gubernatorial and U.S. Senate candidates.
WHEN: Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. CT
WHERE: Grand View University Speed Lyceum Student Center
NASW IA member Okpara Rice, MSW, and CEO of Tanager Place in Cedar Rapids, will serve as the moderator. Questions will be asked by members of NASW IA and Grand View social work students. All declared candidates and the incumbent for the U.S. Senate race and all declared candidates and the incumbent for Governor's race have been invited to participate. Approximately one-half of the event will be dedicated to the gubernatorial candidates and approximately one-half of the event will be dedicated to the U.S. Senate candidates. The discussion with gubernatorial candidates will be during the first half of the event; the second half of the event will be reserved for the Senatorial candidates.
