The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Seeman, Bierschenk and Primmer were present. The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. at the conference room at the Benton County Service Center. Members of the public were provided the zoom access capability to join in during open session and livestream at https://www.youtube.com/bentoncountyiowa. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously. Bierschenk moved/Primmer seconded: To approve the minutes of January 25, 2022 and January 28, 2022. Motion carried.

Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: to set land use hearing date of Tuesday March 1, 2022 at 9:15 a.m. for HGP LLC in part of SE ¼ NE ¼ of 34-85-9. Motion carried.

Bierschenk moved/Primmer seconded: To approve farm exemption application for Brad Hackett in Section 36-86-9. Motion carried.

Melissa Abel-Croy and Wayne Parizek, presented the Benton County Volunteer Program Budget. They also provided an overview of the services and how the non-profit organization provides services including free medical transportation to residents.

Kate Robertson, Benton Development Group and Dave Fish, President of the BDG Board came to provide an update and how productive the year 2021 was. They have received (2) $100,000 catalyst grants for businesses in Belle Plaine and Atkins and a $75,000 Brownfield/Grayfield award for the redevelopment of the barn building on the braille school property in Vinton. 2022 will also show significant growth to the organization.

Benton and Iowa County Development Groups officially formed a two-year partnership to promote economic growth in both counties. Benton Development Group is asking for the same amount as FY 22.

The Engineer presented the Title IV Non-Discrimination Agreement between Iowa Department of Transportation and Benton County, Iowa. The last time it was done was in 2013, so the original resolution will need to be

Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve Resolution #22-13, Amending Resolution #13-74, Adopting the Title VI Non-Discrimination Agreement between Benton County and The Depart of Transportation, and authorizing the Engineer as the Title VI Coordinator. Motion carried.

Historic Preservation presented their FY 23 Budget Request. It was down $3,200 from current year. Alison Hicks and Phil Borleske were both members of the commission present to give an update. Hicks said the camp workshop that was supposed to be in person, is not going to be an online camp in April due to health concerns.
