The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in special session at the Emergency Management Agency Office in the Benton County Law Enforcement Center. Supervisor Primmer called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. Supervisors Seeman, Primmer and Bierschenk were also present. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously.

The Supervisors and Sheriff's staff had asked to meet with City officials regarding the dispatch services provided by Benton County. The last time there was a contract or 28/E with City of Vinton was in 1991. The county is proposing the contract dispatch rates to be based off employing 1 full time dispatcher at their employment cost including benefits to be about $91,661. Suggesting that it be split amongst the 3 city police departments and base it on the percentage of calls taken. Annual adjustments would be made based on employee raises and numbers of calls using same formula. Bud Maynard, Vinton Mayor explained how this was too late to ask for an increase due to the budget process already in the works. Most cities have published their maximum levy notices in the paper. Other discussion was had regarding the topic, but no action was taken, but it was agreed this will need to be addressed.

The purpose of the 2nd part of tonight's meeting was to be present during the public hearing on the FY23 Emergency Management Agency budget. The budget hearing was opened with Scott Hansen, agency coordinator, providing detailed information concerning the budget. After hearing all comments, the hearing was closed and adopted by the Emergency Management Commission.

Bierschenk moved/Seeman seconded: To adjourn. Motion carried.
