Senator Dawn Driscoll, R-Williamsburg, filed official election nomination papers today with the Secretary of State.
"I am proud of the support I received from so many people in this district who signed my nomination petitions papers to be on the ballot in Senate District 46," said Senator Driscoll. "During my time in the Senate, I have supported historic tax cuts, policies to encourage new career opportunities, address the workforce shortage, and ensure the quality and integrity of our public schools. But my work is not done."
"I will continue to advocate for taxpayers, parents, and the agricultural industry. Iowa is an agricultural state, and the Legislature plays an important role in supporting that industry. In the coming months, I look forward to connecting and meeting with Iowans in the district and hearing their concerns."
Senator Driscoll was first elected to the Iowa Senate in 2020. She serves as the Vice-Chair to the Natural Resources and Environment committee and the Transportation, Infrastructure, and Capitals Appropriations Subcommittee. She also sits on the Agriculture, Labor and Business Relations, Local Government, and Transportation committees. After the passage of the new redistricting maps and effective with elections in 2022, Senate District 46 will include Iowa and Washington counties, as well as a portion of Johnson County.
Senator Driscoll is a proud sixth-generation farmer and a mother of three. She was the past president of the Iowa County Farm Bureau and has been an active volunteer in her community, including chair of the Ag in the Classroom program in schools and nursing homes, coaching volleyball and basketball, and being a religious education teacher, 4-H community leader, and a preschool board president.
