Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has signed into law a new bill that legalizes the use of .410 and 28-gauge shotguns to turkey hunt. The bi-partisan legislation, which can be found in SF2334, passed the Iowa House and Senate without a single "no'' vote.
.410 and 28-gauge shotgun rounds, which are among the smallest types of hunting ammunition that are manufactured, are often preferred by hunters who shoot smaller game, like turkeys.
With the creation of the new law, 42 states now allow hunters to use .410 and 28-gauge shotguns when they go turkey hunting. .
