"I'm honored to have the support of these strong rural leaders," Silbernagel said. "Iowa's small towns and farmers need a Senator in Des Moines who wakes up every morning putting our priorities first and I'm humbled that Benton County's elected officials see me as that champion."

The Republican primary for Senate District 42 is June 7th.

The complete endorsement follows, and is attached:

"We, the Republican elected officials of Benton County, are excited to announce our endorsement of Colman Silbernagel for the Republican nomination for Senate District 42.

Colman is uniquely qualified to represent us in Des Moines. First, he grew up on a dairy farm where he milked cows, baled hay, and picked rocks. Hard work and integrity are woven into the fabric of his person. He understands the importance of agriculture to our district, to Iowa, and to the world.

Additionally, Colman is a veteran. He committed his life- his actual life- to defending us and our freedoms. Colman detected and deactivated roadside bombs in Afghanistan where he earned a Bronze Star. More importantly, he brought every Soldier under his command home.

Colman has proven himself to be a reliable, life-long conservative Republican. He is pro-life from conception to natural death. He supports your 2nd amendment rights. He will fight to lower taxes- including eliminating the state income tax. As a veteran, he will strive to support his fellow veterans. As a father, he knows the value of parents in education and families' choices for educating their children.

We'd be honored to have Colman represent us in Des Moines. Please join us in voting for Colman Silbernagel in the Republican Primary on June 7th!
