The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Seeman, Bierschenk and Primmer present. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. at the conference room at the Benton County Service Center. Members of the public were provided the zoom access capability to join in during open session and livestream at https://www.youtube.com/bentoncountyiowa. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously. Bierschenk moved/Primmer seconded: To approve the minutes from Tuesday, November 1, 2022. Motion carried.
Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve payroll checks numbered 142534 through 142543, ACH Deposits 51079 through 51232, claims numbered 244287 through 244407 and vendor checks 244408 through 244414. Motion carried.
Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve change order(s) for Racom for Norway tower with a credit of $61,125.00 and Belle Plaine Tower with a credit of $1,625.00. Motion carried.
Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To set land use hearing date for on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 9:15 a.m. for Shawnee Lines. Motion carried.
Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To table action on cameras. Motion carried.
Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To appoint Richard Stallman, All department heads and/or designee to the Benton County Security Committee. Motion carried.
Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve Resolution #22-104, Hiring new mechanic, Christopher Sojka in Secondary Roads effective November 28, 2022 at wage of $24.89 an hour. Motion carried.
Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve Resolution #22-105, Changes to Federal Functional Classification System. Motion carried.
Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To rescind action on Resolution #22-103 from November 1,2022. Motion carried.
Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To enter into closed session at 9:45 a.m. pursuant to Iowa Code 21.5(1)c. Motion carried.
Primmer moved/Bierschenk seconded: To exit closed session at 10:15 a.m. Motion carried.
Mae Hingtgen, CEO for MH/DS of East Central Mental Health Region along with Mona Onken to provide a regional update. They have a five-year plan of priorities which include being responsible with the taxpayers' dollars and good partners with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). They continue to work on reducing the fund balance and also to be more data driven.
