ApprovedCrop Plot Expansion Activities3. The FFA committee along with our grounds director is recommending the expansion of agricultural usage of school-owned ground. The proposal is to add a few planting rows (~1.3 acres) to the existing crop plot adjacent to the high school parking lot. The two new expansions would be on the old Abby Center lot (~ 2.5 acres) and the Imperial apartment lot (~1.5 acres). These will be planted in alfalfa. The additional acres would be approximately 4 acres of alfalfa and 1.3 acres of corn or beans. Not only will the expansion increase FFA funds, but it will also reduce the amount of mowing for the school district, saving funds and time. The Abby Center lot is used twice a year for parking (county fair and Boomtown). The plan would be to mow and rake the field before those events and still allow parking on the field.
Adjournment at 7:50 pm
