Congresswoman Ashley Hinson released the following statement after receiving the Guardian of Small Business Award from the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), an association of small businesses across the United States.

"Small businesses account for 99% of businesses in Iowa and employ more than 50 percent of the workers in our state. I am honored to be recognized by the NFIB for my work to advocate for Iowa's small business community. Fighting inflation, building a strong workforce, and cutting government red tape are key to supporting Main Street businesses, and I'll continue to be a strong voice for Iowa small business owners and workers in Congress." - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson

"The NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award is presented to Members of Congress with a demonstrated record of supporting America's small and independent business owners. This Congress, small businesses faced tough economic headwinds, especially from inflation, burdensome regulations, and threats of tax hikes at all levels of the government. We are proud to recognize the lawmakers from the 118th Congress, including Representative Hinson, who stood up for Main Street by taking pro-small business votes that would reduce taxes, eliminate burdensome government mandates, lower health insurance costs, and fuel the Main Street economy." - Brad Close, NFIB President

Hinson has spearheaded the Main Street Tax Cut Certainty Act to make key small business tax cuts permanent for small businesses.

Hinson introduced her Workforce Innovation & Empowerment Package to help connect Iowa workers with opportunities in our local economy.

Hinson has led the Red Tape Reduction Act to codify Trump-era deregulation and ensure two regulations are cut for every new one enacted.
