The Benton County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. in the Benton County Service Center Conference Room.

With a prompt 9:00 A.M. Call to Order, the agenda was approved.
The meeting began at item six on the agenda, "discuss/approve new federal regulation on Exempt Employee Salary." The minimum salary of an exempt employee, must be changed to not include overtime and not earn comp time. This would affect the salary of Transportation Director, Mark Erickson and would go into effect January 1, 2025. Nancy Jorgenson ran the numbers and recommended that the county should increase his salary to the minimum of $58,656 according to the regulations. The supervisors approved the motion.
The minutes were then approved.
A vacation carryover for Barb Fetzer was approved to be used by June 30, 2025.
County Engineer, Myron Parizek presented a quote for the purchase of a belly dump rock trailer for Secondary Roads, this was approved to replace a 30-year-old trailer. The old one will be placed up for auction.
The Supervisors also signed and approved the Benton County Pledge supporting strategies outlined in the Safety Action Plan as part of a federal grant.
Under reports Rick Primmer Central Iowa Juvenile Detention information was shared with the board.
There were no committee meetings, topics of unfinished or new/old business to discuss at this week's meeting.
