Government : Shellsburg City Council Minutes 10-21-25

A regular meeting of the Shellsburg City Council was called to order by Mayor Travis at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers.

Roll call was answered by Harvey, Hepker, Travis, Vogt, and Reeves.

Hepker motioned to approve the consent agenda, seconded by Harvey. A roll call vote was taken, all ayes.

The law enforcement report was reviewed.

Public Forum: Nancy Thorkildson had questions on the Wildcat sidewalk and the sidewalk policy. Some of the funds were used for ADA compliance on a sidewalk installed on Maxwell Drive. Canton will have 1 lane traffic while the railroad works on replacement of the rails by the bridge.

Council Forum: Vogt mentioned the two school meetings November 10th and the13th. Hepker motioned to approve a $1.00 raise for Karl since completion of

his Grade I certification, seconded by Reeves. A roll call vote was taken, all ayes.

Effective once the resolution is passed and to pay retroactive from 9-18-2025.

Vogt and Robertson were not aware that the engineer was going to charge for the observation of the street coating.

Council member replacements for library liaison and Facebook will be discussed after the election.

Stump grinding is to be tabled until the next meeting.

Property clean up spreadsheet was discussed and will slow down for winter.

The sidewalk workshop will be held November 17, 2025 at 6:00 pm in the council chambers.

Vogt motioned to adjourn, seconded by Reeves. All ayes.
