We frequently hear about blood drives and the supply needs of our community but rarely do we learn about the impact of our giving community. In the past two years the blood drives held at Virginia Gay Hospital and Clinics have yielded more than 250 pints of blood.

Blood donated in our community stays in our community and that’s an incredible asset for a rural hospital. One of the truly inspiring facts we’re pleased to report is that we’ve had 39 brand new blood donors during the past two years!

The last blood drive saw these remarkable results: 8 new blood donors, 26 donors registered, 23 pints donated, and 64 Virginia Gay Hospital patients helped.

The next chance for you to give blood is January 16th. Donating blood is safe, simple and it saves lives! It takes just one hour to make a life-saving blood donation, which will impact the lives of up to three different hospital patients. You can make a difference in your community by helping to maintain the local blood supply when you donate blood with LifeServe Blood Center and Virginia Gay Hospital and Vinton Community.

Give your life-saving gift Friday, January 16, 2015 from 1:00 PM - 5:30 PM at Virginia Gay Hospital, 502 N 9th Ave.
