Winter Workout Challenge
This challenge offers over 20 exhilarating exercises and winter-related activities that can be participated in to accumulate points. Accumulate enough points within a six-week span and you will earn a T-shirt commemorating your success! Even better, staying active throughout the winter has countless benefits such as keeping yourself positive, healthy and fit! Nowthat’s incentive!
Be sure to register soon since this six-week Winter Workout Challenge will officially get underway on January 12. The cost of the program is $10.
Winter Swim
VPRD's annual Winter Swim begins this Sunday and is an opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy two hours of open swim time at the Braille School indoor pool in Vinton. Winter Swim will be offered every Sunday in the month of January and the specific dates are January 4, 11, 18 and 25. Swimming will begin at 2 PM and will conclude at 4 PM. The cost of admission per person is $4. Circuit Training VPRD is hosting its Circuit Training & Fitness program now through the month of May at the V/S Middle School weight room (enter through the west doors). This class will meet Mondays and Thursdays every week from 5 – 6 PM. The cost is only $12 per month but participants must pre-register at the Vinton Recreation Center. Participants will be trained for appropriate usage on all of the weight and cardio machines available and a supervisor will be on hand at all time to give assistance if needed. Lap Swim VPRD has just one last month to go for this past year’s fall Adult Lap Swim program in the mornings at the Braille School indoor pool. The remaining dates are January 5, 6, 8, 12, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, 29 and the cost is $18. Lap swim times are from 6:10 – 7:30 AM. Registrations flyers are available online at vprdzone.com or at the Vinton Recreation Center.
