Virginia Gay Hospital and Clinics welcomes Adam Brooks, M.D., as a physician working one day a week in the Vinton clinic. Dr. Brooks, Board Certified in Family Medicine with an M.D. degree from the Chicago Medical School and his Family Medicine Residency at the University of Iowa, will be working at the Vinton Clinic on Tuesdays.
“Patient demand is growing and we’re working hard to accommodate all the additional patient visits,” says Melissa Macku, Clinic Director. “We’re reaching a limit of what we can do with our available staff and our challenge has been fitting another provider into the limited space available in the clinic. We needed a provider meeting our high standards who was also available to work during the few times when we have exam rooms available. We feel fortunate to have found Dr. Brooks. He has the right background and was able to help us when we had space available.”
Dr. Brooks recently moved to Marion, Iowa, with his wife, Nicole, and their three young children who are finishing-up the year in Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, and 5th Grade.
“I saw Virginia Gay needed help meeting increased demand and the scheduling happened to work for me,” according to Dr. Brooks. “I feel good about helping Virginia Gay take care of their patients, and it’s a great opportunity for me because I really enjoy the interaction that comes with Family Medicine.”
Dr. Brooks has worked in both urgent care and Family Medicine environments. “I just hope I can contribute to the team. The current staff and administration have done a great job here and I want to continue their tradition,” says Adam. “I understand the opportunity to work in Family Medicine as a great privilege. There aren’t many professions where can you do what you love and help people live healthier lives.”
