Sara Stuefen, DDS, has been elected to a three-year term as the University District Dental Society Trustee to the Iowa Dental Association (IDA) Board of Trustees. Dr. Stuefen received her doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, and has been in practice for 12 years at Sara E. Stuefen DDS PC in Vinton. Dr. Stuefen received the IDA New Dentist of the Year award in 2015 and the IDA Outstanding Service Award in 2022.

 

In addition to Dr. Stuefen, seven dentists were installed into their new roles on the IDA Board of Trustees:

  • President, John Arend, DDS, general dentist from Independence
  • President-Elect, Jim Larsen, DDS, general dentist from Davenport
  • Vice President, Chris Bogue, DDS, general dentist from Carroll
  • Des Moines District Dental Society Trustee, Kevin Baker, DDS, general dentist from Des Moines
  • Fort Dodge District Dental Society Trustee, Jordan Moffitt, DDS general dentist from Eagle Grove
  • Dubuque District Dental Society Trustee, Kim Pingel, DDS, oral surgeon from Dubuque
  • New Dentist Committee Chair, Kaisha Brown, DDS, general dentist from Waukee

 

As is custom, the installation of new officers and trustees took place during the IDA Annual Session, held April 27-30 in Des Moines.

 

The Iowa Dental Association (IDA) is the largest, most representative professional oral health association in Iowa. More than 80 percent of Iowa's practicing dentists are members of IDA. Established in 1863, the IDA mission is to encourage the improvement of the health of the public, promote the art and science of dentistry, and to represent the interests of the members of the dental profession and the public that it serves.
