LifeServe Blood Center is partnering with local first responders across its service region for this year's Battle of the Badges blood drive promotion, happening Monday, July 1-Saturday, July 6 (closed Thursday, July 4 for the holiday). Eligible blood donors can schedule an appointment at some of LifeServe's Donor Centers and participating mobile blood drives, while voting for their favorite first responder group.

"It is time to rally behind our local heroes-EMS, Fire and Police. This fun promotion pits our brave EMS, Fire and Police Departments against each other, in a friendly competition, for the most lifesaving blood donations," said Shay Willis, Director of PR and Marketing at LifeServe Blood Center. "We want everyone to come out and donate blood during the holiday week to help us boost the blood supply but also our heroes."

At the end of their donation, donors will have the opportunity to cast their vote and decide if last year's winner will hold on to their bragging rights or if it will go to another group. Donors will also receive a first-aid kit.
