LifeServe Blood Center is asking community members to show their support for local firefighters this May in conjunction with International Firefighters' Day observed annually on May 4th.

LifeServe Blood Center is partnering with local firefighters to host special mobile blood drives across Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Illinois April 23-May 2 as well as at our 14 Donor Centers Thursday, May 1-Saturday, May 3. This promotion aims to honor firefighters while providing much needed blood donations to community hospitals.

The need for donations increases during the summer months due to increased outdoor activities and travel. "Firefighters are committed to the protection of life and property and put their lives on the line regularly for the sake of others. Their commitment is something that everyone can appreciate and support. To make sure we're prepared for every situation, it's important that donors give blood regularly, especially as we head into the summer," said Tim Paluch, LifeServe Blood Center Director of PR and Marketing.

Donors who roll up a sleeve to give the gift of life at one of the participating locations will receive a free axe pizza cutter while supplies last!
