Dr. Haben began his medical journey at the University of Akron, where he earned dual degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Biochemistry. This strong scientific foundation led him to pursue a career in orthopedic surgery. He earned his medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his orthopedic residency at Western Reserve Hospital, where he gained broad experience in fracture care, sports injuries, and comprehensive musculoskeletal treatment.

Following residency, Dr. Haben completed advanced fellowship training in total joint surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During his fellowship, he refined his expertise in anterior approach hip replacement, robotic-assisted joint replacement, complex joint reconstruction, and muscle-sparing, minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Growing up in the Midwest instilled in Dr. Haben a strong appreciation for community and service. He is proud to call Cedar Falls, Iowa home and looks forward to serving patients throughout the Cedar Valley.

Outside of the clinic and operating room, Dr. Haben enjoys spending time outdoors and with his wife and two young children. He is excited to become part of the Cedar Valley community and  Virginia Gay Hospital and to build long-lasting relationships with his patients through compassionate, high-quality orthopedic care.
