The Iowa House Health and Human Services Committee voted 14-6 to advance a bill that would allocate $1 million to the Double Up Food Bucks program, if federal food assistance for Iowans is limited to healthy food purchases only.

Blood donation requirements change to allow for more donations

An important update is now in effect for LifeServe Blood Center who collects donations at Virginia Gay Hospital has lowered the minimum weight requirement for blood donors from 120 pounds to 110 pounds.
