COVID hits local nursing home

With 5 cases of COVID in Benton County nursing homes, fortunately, they have been contained to just one location, the Vinton Lutheran Home.Across the state, Iowa nursing homes have been hit hard with the cases hitting 821 cases including residents and staff.

Our hospitals are quickly filling up again with COVID-19 patients and with those suffering from other illnesses and injuries. Our ability to transfer critical patients to higher-level facilities is becoming extremely difficult and is very concerning.
