Health and Fitness : ASAC helps in Managing Substance Abuse Disorders

There are a number ofpotential health carechanges facing ourcountry, and it may beawhile before we knowthe outcomes. ASAC is a health care provider withexpertise in substance use disorders. Likeother chronic conditions, substance usedisorders can be managed effectively,but often require ongoing treatment andrecovery supports. Treatment enablespeople to counter the effect on the brain and behavior, and supports people as theybegin to live their lives in recovery. Also like other chronic conditions, suchas diabetes, hypertension, and asthma,a part of long term recovery can includehaving a setback. A lapse back to use ofthe substance does not mean failure; itsimply means that treatment needs to beadjusted or that a new course of treatmentis necessary.
