Focused on “Caring for the Lives of Our Seniors,” the staff at Keystone Nursing Care Center tried something a little different this fall—hosting their first-ever Zombie Run for the community!
The runners took off from Keystone Turner Hall, sprinting through town while dodging zombies lurking along the route. The mission? Make it to the finish line with your flags still intact. After the 5k race, participants returned to Turner Hall for a lively celebration complete with zombie-themed drinks, music by Tim Fry, and plenty of photo ops with the zombies!
A big thank-you goes out to Brenda Engelking, whose months of planning and dedication made this spooky-fun event possible. Thanks to the amazing support from the community, the Zombie Run raised $1,500 for Benton Girls Wrestling and another $1,500 for Keystone EMS.
It was a morning packed with fun, fitness, and community spirit—proving that even a zombie apocalypse can bring people together for two great causes!
