Evergreen flea market to begin Friday, nearly 70 vendors sign up

Nearly 70 vendors have signed up for the third annual Evergreen Cemetery Flea Market set for this Friday and Saturday at the cemetery.  Tim Fuchs said that two $25 gift certificates for Wal-Mart will be given away. The AMVETS group will be offering food at their booth. Proceeds from vendor fees go toward cemetery upkeep.

Rain-interrupted fest offers insight into the inspirations behind the art

Benton County Community Foundation awards 30 grants to local groups

Benton County, June 18, 2015 - The Benton County Community Foundation will award 30 grants totaling $101,989.72, to local nonprofits and government entities for community projects at its awards ceremony on July 28 at 5:30pm. The ceremony will be held at the Van Horne Community Building, 101 North Main Street, Van Horne. 2015 grant organizations (bold) and projects included: Art and Culture: Area Community Theatre Inc.

Party in Pink 5K winners to receive unique trophies

These unique trophies will be presented at the annual Party in Pink next Friday. The Survivors of Benton County have created some special trophies for the annual Party in Pink 5K race, which takes place Friday, June 26. Here is a photo of some of the prizes and medals for Party in Pink.   There will be Bobble-head trophies awarded to the top female and male finishers, medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place female and male finishers in each age group.

15 MILLION visitors came to Vinton, via Vinton Today

In our staff meeting yesterday we discussed what we would say about our 15 MILLIONTH visit to our site...after all, it was happening late last night or early this morning.  We looked at each other, shrugged and laughed.  We remember how we got excited about 2 thousand people looking at our site in one day. Then we were elated when we cracked our first 100,000, and when we hit our first Million, it was just crazy to wrap our minds around.
