Words of thanks from Garrison's children

Renee's story helped raise money for the Garrison library project; these photos tell the story. A month ago, on April 1, we shared the story of a Garrison girl named Renee, and her vision for a new library in Garrison, where the storm of July 11, 2011, destroyed the historic downtown building.  That story which readers saw on Vinton Today (and later, on other area media) helped spread the word about the need. Over the past 4 years, the Karrs at Monkeytown and Closes at Vinton Today have had what we describe as as "loosey-goosey" partnership.

A word of thanks, and a request for your assistance

Look at the short list of stories from Vinton in the past few years and see if you can identify something they have in common: * A collision with a deer on the Vinton runway damages a plan which a local pilot had spent months building. * A federal search warrant at a local business leads to the discovery of gold bars hidden in a rest room.
