Cedar 2 is currently working with Southwest Nebraska Resource Conservation and Development. They have been working at Swanson Lake which is located right outside of Stratton, Nebraska and are helping to beautify the area around the lake. This includes removing invasive plant species such as Russian Olive and Red Cedar. The efforts that the team is making to beautify the lake will help boost tourism in the area which has seen a decline in recent years due to a drought the area has been facing. Currently, the team is removing Cottonwood trees along a beach area of the lake using chainsaws. This will make the area more desirable for people looking to enjoy the beach. By beautifying the lake and boosting tourism, local businesses in the area will benefit as well. Cedar 2 has made much progress in the little time they have spent at Swanson Lake and are looking forward to the positive impact that their overall work will bring to the area.
