"Be addicted to learning."

That was the advice from Edwon Yedlik, who is known to most Vinton-Shellsburg High School (and middle school) students as a substitute teacher.

Yedlik who holds degrees in a variety of fields including metaphysics, told the inductees of the National Honor Society that he is constantly taking new courses and learning new things.

Yedlik was the invited speaker to the NHS Induction on Monday evening at the high school.

We are inducted 33 new members, 3 seniors and 30 juniors.," said NHS advisor Cynthia Chyma. "We currently have 27 senior members in NHS so this will make our total 60 members in Vinton-Shellsburg's chapter of National Honor Society."

The new senior members include Lexis Druger, Andrew Freeman and Anna Lee. Junior inductees are: Sydney Bartling, Caleb Bendull, Derek Dinderman, John Eden, Jordan Evans, Rachel Gordon, Jacob Gosse, Aaron Henderson, Morgan Hendryx, Alexis Hicok, Daniel Janssen, Caitlin Kruckenberg, Elliana Lane, Katrina Langstraat, Payton Leonard, Karys Lillie, Kylie Miracle, Jessica Noren, Sadie Novotny, Aaron Ohlsen, Olivia Oltrogge, Michelle Patrilla, Riley Ries, Sydney Robertson, Warren Rouse, Kathleen Steffen, Devin Tollefson, Garett Tumilty, Wyatt Tumilty and Zachary Uthoff.

Current members include: Jacob Bunge, Carley Deklotz, Bonnie Duong, Madison Elwick, Elizabeth Fischer, Sam Huss, Benjamin Hyland, Jacob Isbell, Mara Jessen, Sara Jorgensen, Karley Kenney, Matthew Lash, Emma Lippmann, Elizabeth McGee, Ashley McKenna, Wyatt Meyer, Luke Moen, Lucas Murray, Chase Overton, Jacob Patrilla, Jacob Reisch, Dylan Rippel, Rickey Russell, Nolan Sagan, Hannah Seitz, Tanner Spies, Kayla Taylor and Griffin Williams.
