News : VS FFA breakfast raises $1,330 for veterans groups

For the first time ever, the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter held a pancake breakfast at the Vinton Shellsburg High School.

Our pancake breakfast was on Saturday October 19, 2013 from 7-11am. The breakfast was free will donation, and all of the proceeds will be donated to local veterans' organizations.

Many FFA members come to help, as well as manyf community members, who came out to support us and the Vets. We are very grateful to the Vinton Kiwanis Club members who volunteered their time to cook for us, as well as Fareway, Farmer’s Savings Bank, Vinton-Shellsburg Schools, Vinton firemen, Virginia Gay Hospital, and Cedar Valley Eggs.

Our pancake breakfast would not have been possible without all of their help and support. Overall we made and are donating $1,330 at the Annual Veteran's Day assembly at the Vinton-Shellsburg Middle School on November 11.
