Do you have redeemable cans/bottles that are taking up space and you need to make some room before the holidays?

We have the perfect solution for you – donate those redeemable cans/bottles to the Benton County 4-H Service Trip Can Drive this Saturday, December 21, at the Benton County Fairgrounds in Vinton from 9am-1pm. In February, Benton County high school 4-H'ers and non-4-H’ers will spend a weekend in Des Moines working with local shelters, feeding the homeless and various other tasks to help those in need.

This trip costs $2000 and is a life changing experience. Youth that attended last years’ service trip to Omaha had a completely different understanding of what it’s is like to truly go without the simple things such as shelter, warm clothes, access to a shower and a hearty meal.

We will gladly accept any Iowa redeemable cans/bottles that you are willing to donate. If you do not have a way to get the cans/bottles to the fairgrounds or to the Extension Office, please contact the Benton County Extension Office at 319-472-4739. Please support these youth from across Benton County as they raise funds to participate in a great service project.
