News : Lions donate to Junior Achievement

JA volunteer and Lion Jeff Peterson presents a check from the Vinton Lions Club to Barb Rawson of Junior Achievement. The $500 donation helps support financial literacy, workplace readiness and entrepreneurial classes for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade in Benton County. Peterson is one of several business people who volunteered in local classrooms as over 1,179 students in Benton County participated in a Junior Achievement class during the 2009-2010 school year. Rawson said the program is expanding opportunities for students, particularly at the high school level, during the upcoming school year, thanks to support from the Lions and others.
