News : BC Volunteer Program offers rides to medical appointments

Benton County Volunteer Program may be able to assist seniors with medical transportation.

There are no income guidelines; anyone over age 60 is eligible.

The organization is also looking for volunteers who are willing to drive its clients to medical appointments at facilities in Vinton, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and other area communities. While the volunteers are asked to share their time without reimbursement, those driving their own vehicles do received a 50-cent per mile mileage reimbursement.
