News : VSHS Jazz Band third at NEIBA festival

The VSHS Jazz Band finished 3rd in the NIEBA competition Saturday.

The VSHS Jazz Band sax section was featured in one of the band's numbers.

VSHS Jazz Band competed at the annual NEIBA Jazz Festival Saturday, March 8 at Independence, Ia. The first and second place finishers automatically qualify for State Jazz Champs held in Des Moines in April.

This year's jazz band placed 3rd behind the Independence Jazz Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble. Placing 3rd does qualify the VSHS band for a possible Wild Card Bid. Wild Card Bands will be announced Monday March 17.
