Amazing Wines are Being Made by Home Winemakers in Eastern Iowa!
(Vinton, IA). The 3nd annual Eastern Iowa Amateur Wine Competition received 100 wine entries for today’s competition – easily making this contest the second largest in Iowa. A panel of highly skilled wine judges will be evaluating the wine throughout the day, beginning at 10:30am until approximately 2:30pm at the Cobblestone Inn hotel in Vinton. Afterwards the wines will be moved to the Benton County Fairgrounds for the public tasting.
After the official judging, visitors (21 years or older) will be allowed to taste and vote for their favorite “People’s Choice” Award. Free public wine tasting begins at 6:30pm, and “if last year is any indication, this crowd will be bigger than ever”, says Brad Johnson, event organizer.
