Scott Barron learned to appreciate chiropractic medicine when he was in high school.
"I sprained my ankle, and I came to Matt Betterton," he recalls.
He had been in pain for a long time before his first visit to the chiropractor.
"After one treatment, I was soon back on my feet," he recalls.
That began a love of chiropractics that has led Barron into the profession. He is spending the next few months as a chiropractic intern with Dr. Betterton. After he graduates from the Palmer chirpractic school in September, he will return to Vinton and become an associate at Betterton Family Chiropractic.
After graduating from Vinton-Shellsburg High School in 2003, Barron went to UNI for four years before beginning the four-year chiropractic course at Palmer.
"I like chiropractics because it's all about results, usually quick results," he said. "I like to see people get well."
Barron, the son of Mike and Rhonda Barron of Vinton is single, although he does have a girlfriend who is also in college. He enjoys the outdoors, especially hunting.
