News : Celebration Park to include new cedar sign along riverbank

Boaters who approach Vinton from the north on the Cedar River will see the "Vinton Landing" sign welcoming them at the new Celebration Park. Those at the park will see the other side of the sign, which will announce the name of the river.

Vinton Parks and Recreation personnel installed the sign on Thursday, and local artist Brian Parr will engrave the words on the sign.

The dedication of the park and its Burns Mossman Gazebo is scheduled of June 14, with a variety of activities and fireworks.
