The Vinton Public Library Summer Reading Program ended Wednesday, July 28, with a "Splish, Splash Science" program by the Mad Science of Iowa Center.

The show featured water tricks, such as saving a Viking ship from a rogue wave, emulating an indoor rocket blast-off, shooting foam from a fire hose and other interactive activities.

More than 170 children attended the event. Many participated in the fun and educational experiments.
