Scores of visitors to Vinton stores sampled wine, cheese, popcorn and other foods available locally, and saw a variety of local art pieces, during the Taste of Vinton event Saturday evening.
Many artists had their work on display, and a few of them, including Elaine Hansen Conrad, allowed participants to watch them work. The artists are making plans for a public art display next month (more details coming in the near future).
At each of the participating business, wine and/or other samples were available.
While all of the items offered for sample are available for purchase locally, some of those are also created locally.
Joyce Svoboda shared samples of 4 Sisters Slush Fund wine slushie mixes. She and her three sisters have been working on the recipes for the past few years, and have started selling the products in the area. The Svobodas rented a slushie machine to make samples for the event.
Participating businesses included: L Marie Boutique, Jessy's Gems, Art Guilt/Creartivity Studio, Hope Chest, Rabe Hardware, Fareway, Cameron's Clothing, Clingman Pharmacy, Tootsie's Ice Cream & More, Henkle Creek Mercantile and LaGrange Pharmacy.
