News : Vinton Police Chief Tilson announces retirement from law enforcement

Vinton Police Chief Jeff Tilson has announced his intention to leave his position.

On his Facebook page, Tilson posted this today:

After spending my entire adult life in law enforcement, the last 24 years with the Vinton Police Department, the last 23 as Chief, I've submitted my resignation as Chief of Police of Vinton effective on Friday, August 1st. With accumulated vacation, my last working day here will be on Friday, June 20th.
