While the Benton Development Group meetings are always open to the public, the BDG board hopes county residents will come to its next meeting to share input about the future of the economic development organization.

"The board is asking for help from the public to develop a new image of BDG and what comes to people's minds when they think of Benton County and particularly the Benton Development Group," said BDG Board President Marlyn Jorgensen. "It is important that we get the right kind of reaction from people when they first see or hear of Benton County and BDG.

At times, said Jorgensen, the first contact people may have with an organization is with its logo or web site; those things will be on the agenda for the July 30 meeting, which takes place at 7 p.m. at the Blairstown Community Center in downtown Blairstown.

Those who cannot attend the meeting but would like to share their thoughts are invited to email the group at bdg@bentoncountyiowa.com or call the office at 319-472-5545.

Those who do not have any specific ideas for the re-branding of the BDG are invited to come to the meeting.

"There will be plenty of other interesting stuff on the agenda," says Jorgensen.
