On the 17th of July, the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter officers, along with Mrs. Fleming, Scott Fleming, and Emily Cashman, went to Clear Lake, Iowa for some fun camping time. This camping trip was for the annual officer retreat, designed for officer bonding time.

At officer retreat, the officers participated in multiple ice breakers, or team building activities, to learn how to rely on one another as well as bonding with each other. They also had a lot of meetings to discuss multiple subjects, such as who we are and who we want to be, how to work with one another, and what’s going to be happening this year in FFA, along with finally coming up with 2014-2015 Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter theme; finding our purpose through living our passion.

Besides the days being packed with the ice breakers and group meetings they were also busy with recreation time. The group went tubing out on the lake as well as playing on the pontoon- going down the slide countless of times and jumping off the top of the boat. They even made time for arts and crafts! It was an amazing weekend, and everyone was sad to go back home but excited to start the year!
