News : Biercrest, Sandridge, Hanson and Schulte Farms Place at Iowa State Fair

Dairies competed for top honors in the Jersey Dairy Cattle show judged Friday at the 2014 Iowa State Fair.

The Grand Champion Female was shown by Kruses LJ Swiss of Holy Cross, and Ski Pal Farms of Epworth exhibited the Reserve Grand Champion Female. An honorable mention was awarded to Steinridge Jerseys of Lawler.

Lyon Jerseys, LLC of Toledo earned first place in both the Premier Exhibitor and Premier Breeder contests. Schulte Bros. of Watkins claimed second place in both contests.

The Premier Breeder Award is given to the competitor who earns the most points for animals bred and exhibited by the entrant or others during the day's show. The Premier Exhibitor Award is given to the exhibitor who accumulates the most points based upon the day's placings.
