James William Hansen, 28 of Cedar Rapids, faces sex abuse charges in Benton and Linn counties following a joint investigation by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Cedar Rapids Police Department and the Iowa Department of Human Services.
Hansen was arrested by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday August 12, following an investigation of an incident reported at Hannen Lake recreational area near Blairstown in Benton County.
The alleged incident occurred on Friday night August 6, 2010, involving three minor males.
As a result of that incident, Hansen faces charges of two counts of sexual abuse in the second degree (class B felony), two counts of lascivious acts with a child (class C felony) and one count of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse (aggravated misdemeanor).
Hansen was also charged on Aug. 11, by the Cedar Rapids Police Department with indecent contact with a child following an investigation that revealed Hansen had inappropriate sexual contact with multiple victims in the City of Cedar Rapids.
Hansen is currently in the Benton County Jail on a $ 25,000 bond.
