Note to the Veteran who sent in a comment listing your service: It was accidently deleted...could you resubmit your info, or contact us via email at Vintontoday@hotmail.com or comment on our Facebook Page please, so sorry! -Val

This is my all time favorite thing to do on Vinton Today, honor our dear Veterans.

I know I don't get the sacrifice that all of you guys and gals made for us, I don't understand all that your families went through while you were gone and some since you've arrived home.

What I DO know is that this great country wouldn't be what she is today without all of YOU!

I know that we wouldn't have the freedoms that we have today if it weren't for you being there to protect them.

So from all of us, "Thank YOU!"

In addition to our tribute, the State of Iowa also has an Honor a Veteran program online which you can view here.

Many businesses in the neighboring towns have offers just for Veterans and you can see these here

But if you want to simply view the photos of some of OUR Benton County Veterans in our Facebook Album, click here: Veteran Pics

For the list of names that your loved ones have sent in to honor you, simply scroll down!

And again we say, "Thank You!"

(We are SURE this is not a complete listing of all of the Veterans that have served or are serving, so PLEASE feel free to:leave us a note in the comments here or on our Facebook page or drop us a note in our email at VintonToday@hotmail.com, we will get the ones we missed included as quickly as possible!)
