The 5th Annual Virginia Gay Hospital Tree Walk is now in progress. On Monday, Nov. 3, hospital employees and others began setting up the trees and displays, which are being offered for sale via silent bid. Bid sheets are on display near each entry. Bidding ends at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25.

There will be at least 53 items, mostly trees and a few wreaths, to see and bid on.

“Last year there were 40 items, and when the first tree walk happened 5 years ago, we started out with just under 20 trees,” said VGH H.R. Director Kim Frank. “Edward Jones is again sponsoring the event and have been since the very beginning and we are extremely excited about the creativity and participation from our original donors along with all of our new donors.”

Frank says that what some people may not realize is that everyone that donates a tree or wreath are not only donating their time in shopping and preparing the trees, but in purchasing everything including the lights, decorations, gifts under the tree. Yet, none of the businesses or individuals are reimbursed for anything.
