News : Update: Air ambulance responds to accident north of Shellsburg

The Benton County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a single vehicles accident 12/18/14 at approximately 3:00 p.m. Russell Ray Bos, age 35 from Shellsburg, was driving northbound in the 6100 block of 32nd Ave 3 miles north of Shellsburg when he lost control of his 2005 Chevy Avalanche.

The vehicle went into the east ditch where it collided with several trees and ended up lodged between trees at the bottom of the ditch. Shellsburg Fire and First Responders responded to the scene. The driver was transported by Lifeguard Helicopter of Cedar Rapids to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Condition of the driver is unavailable. Investigation is pending by the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
