Over 20 representatives of area nonprofits and civic organization attended the Benton County Community Foundation grant workshop on Monday, January 12, at the Van Horne Community Building. The workshop was originally scheduled for January 5, but was postponed due to winter weather.

The Foundation is accepting grant applications until March 15th. The application can be found on-line at http://www.cfneia.org/affiliates/BentonCounty/grants. Grants of $10,000 or less are available to qualified organizations serving Benton County. Thirty-two organizations submitted applications in 2014 with grants being awarded to 26 organizations totaling $97,525.00.

The Benton County Community Foundation is primarily funded by receipts from the gambling industry in the state of Iowa. The Foundation also seeks financial support of county residents who share the mission of supporting are community organizations for projects in need of financial support.
