News : VSHS Band's success extends into Jazz Band season

The VSHS Jazz Band earned a Division 1 rating at the IHSMA State Jazz Band Festival Monday.

Continuing the success of the Vinton-Shellsburg High School Marching Band season, the VSHS Jazz Band earned the top Division 1 rating at its first event of the year, at the IHSMA State Jazz Band Festival at Union High School in La Porte City on Monday.

The band's next competitions will be Tall Corn Jazz at UNI, Coe Jazz competition at Coe College and NEIBA Jazz at Independence. They will be in concert at the VSHS Cabaret Concert in February.
