On Thursday, February 26, 2015, at 5:24 p.m., officers of the Vinton Police Department, assisted by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant at 1207 W. 4th Street in Vinton. This was the same location where a 14 year old female was shot on Tuesday, February 24. This search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation involving this residence and its occupants regarding both the shooting on Tuesday night and other activities. The shooting is still believed to have been accidental in nature but investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding that event.
