News : Two injured in accident on Highway 218 south of Vinton, Tuesday morning

On Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 6:22 a.m. the sheriff’s office responded to a two car accident in the 6600 block of 24th Ave. (Highway 218). Steven R. Isbell, age: 44 from Garrison was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Impala southbound when Orlando Mauldin, age: 49 of Vinton driving a 2003 Dodge Stratus northbound lost control on the icy road crossing into the southbound lane colliding with the Isbell vehicle head-on. Both drivers who were alone in their vehicles were transported to Virginia Gay Hospital with non-life threatening injuries by North Benton Ambulance. The Newhall Fire Department assisted at the scene.
