The Vinton Police Department is investigating the break-in overnight in three businesses on the west edge of Vinton in the early morning hours of St. Patrick's Day.
On Tuesday morning, sometime around 3 a.m. or so, Berry's Lanes, Mickey's Bar and Tootsie's Ice Cream and More were the target of a burglar.
At Berry's, the suspect pried open the door to the bar area, breaking the frame.
Steve Berry said that nothing seemed to be missing.
Authorities are reviewing the security video tape from the bowling alley to try to identify the suspect, Berry said. The bowling alley has been the target of break-ins three or four other times in the past, he said, usually in the spring. Workers were at the business on Wednesday morning, fixing the broken door frame.
At Tootsie's, the burglars broke in through the front door and broke the safe from the wall, looking for money.
"We had to replace our front door," said Tootsie's owner Corey Seibert. "They knew we had cameras. They busted one and moved one, but never found our DVR."
At Mickey's, the burglar reportedly targeted the ATM.
The Vinton Police Department is investigating the reports, but has released no information.
